Disability Unpacked: our mission
Challenging misunderstanding and inspiring change
Disability Unpacked was created to challenge the misunderstanding and fear that too often lead to the exclusion of disabled people — in work, in communities, and in everyday life. Our mission is to empower organisations, professionals, and communities to build environments grounded in respect, inclusion, empowerment, and equality — where disability is not just accepted, but valued and embraced.
Disability Unpacked: our idea
An idea fuelled by passion and fostered into an exciting business
This journey began as a spark of inspiration after experiencing many years of exclusion. What started as a passionate idea grew over time — shaped by lived experience, ongoing learning, and a deepening understanding of the everyday barriers disabled people face. What began as a project has become a movement: rooted in both theory and reality, fuelled by a desire to dismantle structural and social obstacles, and driven by the belief that meaningful change is possible.
Years of reflection, listening, and growth have only sharpened our purpose. Disability Unpacked stands today as a call to action — to unlearn harmful assumptions, replace them with insight, and take practical steps toward a more inclusive world.

Disability Unpacked: our core values
Respect, Inclusion, Empowerment, Equality
- Respect – The foundation of everything we do. We honour the dignity, voice, and worth of every individual.
- Inclusion – We work to create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and like they truly belong.
- Empowerment – We equip both disabled people and those in leadership with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to drive change.
- Equality – We believe everyone should have the opportunity to thrive — without barriers or bias.
We don’t just raise awareness, we take it further. Through our interactive and transformative workshops, we help people and organisations unpack what disability really means and give them the practical tools to create lasting, positive change.
